Terms and important disclaimer

Percival is designed to help people spot suspicious emails, but it is not a guarantee, legal advice, or a replacement for proper security controls.

Percival helps, but it does not guarantee safety

Percival is an assistance tool. It can help people slow down and review suspicious emails, but it cannot guarantee that any message is safe, genuine, or risk-free.

A SAFE result is not proof

A SAFE or low-risk result does not prove an email is safe. Users should not click links, open attachments, send money, share credentials, approve MFA prompts, or provide personal information just because Percival returned a reassuring result.

Independent verification still matters

Users remain responsible for checking suspicious messages through trusted channels. If a message claims to come from a bank, employer, service provider, or government body, verify it independently using contact details you already trust.

False positives and false negatives can happen

Percival may flag legitimate emails as suspicious, and it may also miss some harmful emails. It should not be treated as the only security control or the final decision-maker.

Demo / MVP status

This service is provided as-is for demonstration and MVP purposes. The wording on this page is meant to be practical and clear for an early product, not a final legal document or lawyer-approved policy.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Crusader, Percival, and their operators accept no responsibility or liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, financial, reputational, or other losses arising from use of the service, inability to use the service, or reliance on scan results. Users remain responsible for their own decisions and should independently verify information before taking action.

High-risk situations

For urgent, high-risk, or high-impact situations, contact your IT/security team, bank, service provider, or relevant authority directly using trusted contact details you already know are real.
